RECIFE: Mexico created a spot in a last-16 tie against Netherlands after defeating and sending Croatia out of the 2014 Fifa World Cup by 3-1.


Mexico had to win this match and to avoid losing in Recife to make their place in the knockout phase, but three goals in ten second-half minutes finishes match and pulled the match towards them.

The first half went goalless, after that the Mexicans got the progress when Herrera´s corner was powered home after Marquez out-jumped the defence on 72 minutes.

Croatia tried hard and put every player forward to equalize the score to, mean while Mexico took the advantage of the space left behind after three minutes

Mexico then scored their third when another Herrera corner was flicked on by Hector Moreno for Hernandez who nodded home at the back post on 82 minutes.
