LEEDS: Dhammika Prasad´s sensational four-wicket flare following a
Test-best 160 from skipper Angelo Mathews left Sri Lanka on the verge of
victory in the second Test against England, increasing the oppurtunities for Srilanka at Headingley on Monday.
England were 57 for five at stumps on the fourth day and still needed 293 runs to reach their massive victory target of 350.
Sri
Lanka have won just two Tests in England and never won a series on
English but more than one match. But after dramatic draw of first test, Mathews would have planned much for victory thus they are advancing towards their memorable victory "After the first couple of
days no one thought we would be in this position," Mathews said. "Prasad bowled a brilliant spell and got four wickets for us and
we are sitting pretty."
Mathew helped much his country from dropping down and played an outstanding innings of more than five hours, including 247
balls with 25 fours and a six, finished
when he splinter a James Anderson
full-toss to mid-wicket .
