San Diego Padres pitcher Alex Torres became the first Major League
Baseball player to have a new cap made to protect pitchers from
line drives to the head.
Looking like an corpulent baseball cap, the hat was passed by the
MLB after Brandon McCarthy go through life-alarming bruise when he
was hit by a baseball while pitching for the Oakland A’s.
Torres said he had suffer with some playful disgrace from teammates about the hat’s appearance, but that he doesn’t care how it looks. So Torres have become the only person to wear that life saving cap but only in game if u get hit by a ball on your head.
“It could save our lives if someone hits a ball to your head,” Torres \added. “I get it for free, so I’m just gonna use it to see how
it feels.”
