Football World Cup 2014 Brasil: Algeria had a sensational win over South Korea



ALEGRE: Algeria had a great start with drowning goal scoring leaving South Korea 4-2 in a sensational World Cup Group H battle on Sunday that kept hopes of making place in the last 16 alive and also kept pride for the Arab nation.

Algeria´s first World Cup success since 1982 carried them into second place in the group on three points behind Belgium.

The only Arab existence in the tournament, the ´Desert Foxes´ have never made it past the first round but are now in pole position to earn a spot in the knockout phase.

Belgium have already secured a  group´s two slots in the last 16.After seeing a 28-year World Cup goal drought end in a 2-1 loss to Belgium in their opener, the Algerians discharged  a goal scoring rampage on the Koreans, Islam Slimani, Rafik Halliche and Abdelmoumene Djabou all finding the net in an impressive first half display of all-out great attacking football.

South Korea, however, were not about to lose and started the second half with an desperation missing at the start, Son Heung-min driving a low shot past Rais Mbolhi to cut the loss to 3-1.

The Asians carry on to force forward and Ki Sung-yeung press a spectacular diving save from Mbolhi with a thrilling long pass shot.

On the other side, Algeria took place of the Korean celebration when Yacine Brahimi meshed on the counter-attack causing them the first African team to score four goals in a World Cup match.

The continued battle, the never-say-die Koreans pulling another one back in 72nd minute when Koo Ja-cheol scored from a tussle in front of the Algerian net to make it 4-2.
