Tennis: Roger federer into the Quarter-finals for the 16th time

LONDON: Seven-time champion Roger Federer cruised to the last eight of the men's singles at Wimbledon for 12th time in his career with a compelling straight-sets win over Tommy Robredo, on Tuesday

The Swiss, tendering for a record eighth title at the grassscourt slam, required just one hour 34 minutes of abstract tennis to win 6-1, 6-4, 6-4 and vindicate a mortifying defeat at the hands of Robredo at last year´s U.S. Open.

Everyone is expecting much for defending champion Andy Murray´s imposing success through the draw so far this year but Federer again expressed a reminder that, when his game is flowing there are few better sights in world sport.
Now Federer will meet Wawrinka in the quarter-final clash to continue their progressing records.

Wawrinka, has reached first time in quarter-final in Wimbledon. He confess that playing a fully fit and confident Federer at Wimbledon is "one of the biggest challenge in tennis", although he defeated the former world number one the last time they met, in the Monte Carlo final in April.

"It's like playing Rafa in the French Open," he said. "When you go on court, you need to trust yourself, you need to go for it."
