Wimbledon2014: sixth seeded Kvitova defeated 23 seeded Lucie Safarova, 7-6(6), 6-1 in all-czeh's women semi-final to book her final at all England club.

When Petra Kvitova won the title here three years ago, her fellow Czech Martina Navratilova went on record to say it was the first of many. The assuring years have seen much  highs and lows but her 7-6, 6-1 win over yet another Czech, Lucie Safarova, cruised her into the final and she goes on look every inch the likely champion once more.

The power of Kvitova was there for all to see on Centre Court as the left-hander shred into her returns to collect a break in the opening game. Safarova, seeded No23, broke back in the fourth game and held her own as the two punched a series of winners.

"It was a tough match mentally because Lucie is a great friend of mine," Kvitova said.

"I tried to be focused from the start of the second set. I managed to break her service in the first game and just kept it going and served well.

"I am just emotional from this match. I have two days before the final to focus but I know how it feels to lift that trophy so I will try my best to do it again."

Now she is likely to play against Eugenie Bouchard or Romania's Simona Halep in Final.
