Australia punished Zimbabwe in first ODI of Tri-series

HARARE: Mitchell Marsh and George Maxwell's savage assault carried Australia to a bruising 198-run victory over Zimbabwe in the first game of a one-day triangular series on Monday.
coming in at No. 3, Marsh slammed 89 from 83 deliveries, while Maxwell banged a 46-ball 93 and both batsmen contributed 109 only in nine overs and set Australia to have 350-6 after 50 overs.
Zimbabwe in reply scored 153 in 39.5 overs with Hamilton Masakadza´s 70 the only score of note as the hosts crumbled to their first ever worst defeat against Australia.
Australia will face now South africa in Wednesday clash with a bonus point also.
Australia blowed a record 15 sixes in their innings, with Marsh and Maxwell computing for nine of them, as the tourists easily outrun their previous best of five in an innings against Zimbabwe.

Australia's inning contributed highest score against Zimbabwe, smashing the 344 for seven made in Hobart during a triangular series in January 2004. Although Australia began calmly after they were asked to bat first on a letargic pitch, Aaron Finch and Brad Haddin laid a solid platform with an opening stand of 98.
